Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) now has a base in East Africa where prospective students can learn about the educational possibilities available on the college’s campuses in the midwest and midlands.
The opening of an office in Nairobi, Kenya, extends the university’s international presence which includes in-country offices in Nigeria, India, Mexico, Malaysia, Dubai and China.
TUS first established its Africa presence with the launch of its West Africa office in Lagos, Nigeria, in May 2023.
Each office supported by TUS Global is dedicated to supporting students, agents, and partners with on-the-ground guidance and connection. Thein-country offices provide personalised, on-the-ground support to students considering higher education in Ireland, offering clear guidance on course options, application procedures, visa processes, and pre-departure preparation.
The event was held in Nairobi, Kenya, on March 18th and the office was launched by the Ambassador of Ireland to Kenya, Her Excellency Caitríona Ingoldsby, who in her speech highlighted the shared vision of educational cooperation between Ireland and East Africa.
Ambassador Ingoldsby said: “This launch is more than the opening of an office—it’s the strengthening of a bridge between Ireland and East Africa, built on shared values and a belief in the power of education to shape futures. We are proud to see Technological University of the Shannon deepening its presence here, and we look forward to the many success stories that will emerge from this collaboration.”
The event was also attended by Donnacha McNamara, Vice President of Internationalisation and Alumni at TUS, who reaffirmed the university’s commitment to global engagement and building strong international communities.
