Limerick School of Art and Design, Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), is delighted to announce The Carmody-Mitchell Global Travel Award, a prestigious opportunity open to all graduating students from our BA in Fine Art programme. Valued at €5,000, this award will be presented annually for three years and is designed to support the international ambitions of emerging artists as they embark on their professional careers.
Funded through generous philanthropic support, The Carmody-Mitchell Global Travel Award celebrates excellence, ambition, and creative potential. LSAD is honoured to be the only art school in Ireland offering such a significant and transformative travel award to its graduates.
The award was first launched in 2023, with Asha Murray receiving the inaugural prize. In 2024, Tina O’Connell was selected as the second recipient. The 2025 award is now open to all final-year BA Fine Art students.
Award recipients are chosen by a distinguished panel of artists and curators from across Ireland’s leading arts institutions. Past and present panellists include:

This award underscores LSAD’s ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of globally minded artists, helping them gain the exposure, experience, and inspiration that comes from international travel and cultural exchange.
