Employment & Immigration at a Glance

Step 1: You must have a formal job offer from TUS.

Step 2: Depending on your role and qualifications, you may require one of the following:

– A Critical Skills Employment Permit.

– A General Employment Permit.

– A Hosting Agreement (for eligible researchers).

– Or, if eligible under the Third Level Graduate Programme, you may already hold Stamp 1G permission, which does not require an employment permit.

Step 3: If you require an employment permit, it must be approved before you apply for a visa (if your nationality requires one).

Step 4: Once you have your employment permit (if required) and visa (if required), you must travel to Ireland and register with Immigration Service Delivery within 90 days. You will then receive your Irish Residence Permit (IRP) and the appropriate immigration stamp (usually Stamp 1 or Stamp 1G).

Step 5: Once you have received the correct immigration permission, you may begin working legally for TUS.
