Entry Requirements

Mature applicants (i.e., over 23 years)
or
Leaving Certificate Grade O6 at ordinary level in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate. Two of these subjects must be Mathematics and a language (English or Irish)
or
QQI Level 5 – Full award with a minimum of eight modules
or
Recognition of Prior Learning.

This programme will be delivered online.

The aim of this programme is to give students an understanding of the basic principles of Quality Assurance with particular emphasis on quality management system standards including ISO 9001:2015, as well as auditing, statistical techniques and current trends. This course is designed for those who wish to gain specialist knowledge of quality management principles and how they are applied in the manufacturing, processing and service industries. This course covers all the fundamental quality related subjects necessary for anyone new to or considering a career in Quality Assurance. In addition, the practical application of all the course concepts is covered

This programme provides a strong entry point for those seeking to begin or progress a career in Quality Assurance (QA) across manufacturing, processing, and service industries. It is particularly suited to individuals either new to QA roles or working in operational or technical functions who wish to formalise and broaden their knowledge in line with industry standards.

Graduates will have a solid foundation in quality management systems (including ISO 9001:2015), auditing practices, and statistical techniques — all of which are key competencies in quality-focused roles. The practical, applied nature of the course ensures learners can confidently contribute to quality planning, process control, and continuous improvement initiatives in the workplace.
