This Transport Safety Management module provides a comprehensive understanding of the principles, practices, and strategies involved in ensuring safety within the transportation sector. This module encompasses various modes of transportation, including road, air, rail, maritime, and public transit.
The aim of this module is to address the need to provide learners with Safety and Environmental awareness and knowledge when dealing with vehicle drivers, vehicles, warehousing and vehicle maintenance facilities, along with the Regulatory Compliance, Ethics and Legal Requirements associated with these Safety Practices.
Normally a level 6 in a cognitive area or suitable transport industry experience gained while working in the transport industry which could be verified through RPL. Please provide details of your connection to the transport industry on the Further Information section of the registration form.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE: Applicants who do not have English as their first language must ensure they satisfy English Language requirements. For entry to undergraduate courses, a minimum score of 5.5 in an IELTS exam is required. For postgraduate courses, a minimum of 6.0 is required. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure their English proficiency meets these requirements.

The proposed delivery schedule is subject to change.
This programme will be delivered online over a period of 12 weeks, live on Tuesdays 7-9pm , commencing Tuesday 21st January, 2025. All online sessions will be recorded. Although we strongly advise participants to engage in all of the live online sessions on Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm, we appreciate that there may be an occasion when you are unable to attend. In that instance it will be your responsibility to catch up on any course work covered for any session you may miss.
Each 5 credits will normally equate to approximately 100 Total Learning hours. Total Learning Hours includes the time you spend in class (lectures, tutorials, practical elements) and the time you spend completing work outside of college. The balance between these two varies by discipline, and by level of study. You should bear in mind that the workload will increase at particular times e.g. when assignments are due.
Assessment methods may include:
Written assignments analysing safety regulations and case studies.
Group projects develop safety management plans for specific transportation scenarios.
Presentations demonstrate understanding of safety risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
Examinations assessed knowledge of safety management principles and practices.
