Mature applicants (i.e., over 23 years)
or
Leaving Certificate Grade O6 at ordinary level in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate. Two of these subjects must be Mathematics and a language (English or Irish)
or
QQI Level 5 – Full award with a minimum of eight modules

Recognition of Prior Learning.

The aim of the SPA Certificate in Operational Excellence is to give learners an opportunity to acquire an integrated understanding of the operation and strategy of Operational Excellence and to develop transferable and transversal skills. The programme is designed to offer the learner an opportunity to gain a detailed knowledge of the theories and effective practice of Operational Excellence which the learner can use in a wide variety Operational Excellence roles to improve organisational and business efficiencies and effectiveness.

This programme will be delivered online and part time through an innovative and interactive online learning environment. It utilises highly participatory learning and teaching pedagogies. The flexibility and agility of this programme, will allow learners to specialise in a pathway most suited to their skills, career aspirations, and employer needs while undertaking core modules that will give them the necessary skills and competencies which are required in a variety of Operational Excellence roles

This certificate is designed for professionals who want to enhance their ability to lead, support, or implement operational improvements within their organisation. The programme equips learners with the practical tools, strategic insight, and analytical skills needed to drive continuous improvement and optimise performance in a range of settings.

Graduates will be well-positioned for roles in industries that prioritise efficiency, quality, and lean operations — including manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, services, and the public sector.
