Attendance
Each graduand is invited to bring a maximum of two guests to the Ceremony. The cost of attending graduation is €45.00 per graduand which includes gown hire and guest attendance. Guests will not be admitted to the graduation ceremony without tickets. While this is a family occasion and children are welcome, entry into the Conferring Hall will only be permitted to children aged 7 years and older. Please note that we cannot meet any requests for extra invitations outside of the allocated tickets. Live streaming will be available in the Douglas Hyde Theatre on the Athlone Campus for children under 7, family members and guests without tickets.
Non-Attendance
In the event that you are unable to attend, your award will be conferred in absentia. The award cannot be collected after the ceremony, nor may it be presented to relatives or friends in your absence. In absentia graduands will receive their parchment via registered post in the weeks following the ceremony. We will send an email to your personal email address in early November requesting confirmation of the address you would like us to send it to.
Booking your Gown and Tickets
You are required to wear the appropriate academic dress to your graduation. Gowns, caps, hoods / epitoge (a strip of material worn over the left shoulder) must be hired from Phelan Conan Ltd. before the booking deadline of 1pm on Monday 21st October at a cost of €45.
Graduands can book this online at www.phelanconan.com. Upon completion of the booking of your gown you will be automatically registered to attend the graduation and two guest tickets will be assigned to you. You will receive your guest tickets when you collect your gown. There will be no capacity to allow any additional guest per graduand into the conferring ceremony.
Failure to book your gown and register by the closing date will be taken as an indication that you are not attending Graduation. Your award will be conferred in absentia and your parchment posted out in the weeks following graduation.
The booking facility is now open and will close at 1pm on Monday 21st October. We encourage early booking. The pre-booking online of your gown and guest tickets is essential to avoid disappointment on the day of graduation.
