About DARE

DARE (Disability Access Route to Education) offers reduced points places to school leavers who, due to a disability, have experienced additional educational challenges in second-level education.

To be eligible for DARE, you must meet both:

• The DARE Evidence of Disability Criteria
• The DARE Educational Impact Criteria

DARE Students at TUS Athlone

If you have a DARE offer, you may secure a place at TUS Athlone Campus with reduced points (10%), provided you meet the minimum entry and specific subject requirements for your chosen course.

Register for Disability Support

Once you accept your course, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to begin the Online Disability Support registration process. We carry out individual Needs Assessments to tailor support to your requirements.

What to Expect After Accepting Your Offer

Check your emails! Within a few days, you’ll receive:

• An invitation to an online induction for DARE/HEAR students.
• A reminder to complete your online support registration.
