Certificate in AI and Emerging Technologies (Certificate, L7, 10 ECTS) (Middle East)

  • Location: Online

  • weeks: 12

  • Fees: €1,000 ( €300 euro funding available to Middle East GAA Members)

Course Overview

This certificate/module/course introduces key concepts in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and selected emerging technologies, with a strong emphasis on practical AI literacy and responsible professional use. Students will explore what AI is, how it is evolving, and how it is being used across society and the workplace. The course includes hands-on engagement with widely used AI tools, prompting techniques, and strategies for evaluating AI outputs. It also introduces how emerging technologies intersect with AI — such as automation, IoT, AR/VR, and blockchain — through accessible examples and real-world use cases.

Key topics include:

· Introduction to AI: history, myths, capabilities, limitations, and key terminology

· Generative AI tools and practical applications for productivity and problem-solving

· Prompting techniques and building effective prompt libraries

· Evaluating AI outputs: accuracy, reliability, bias, and limitations

· Ethics, responsible AI use, privacy, and data protection (including GDPR awareness)

· AI-enabled automation and emerging technologies in everyday and professional contexts
