Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships (GOI‑IES) 2026, a prestigious programme that supports high‑calibre students from non‑EEA countries to pursue postgraduate study in Ireland.
The Higher Education Authority (HEA) has confirmed that the 2026 scholarship call will open on 29 January 2026, with applications accepted until 12 March 2026.
About the Scholarship
The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships are awarded to exceptional students from outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland/United Kingdom for one year of full‑time study at NFQ Levels 9 or 10.
Each scholarship includes:

- Full tuition fee waiver at the Non‑EU fee rate for one academic year (for either a taught Master’s or one year of a research Master’s/PhD programme);
- A €10,000 stipend to support living costs in Ireland during the scholarship year.
TUS is prioritising applicants for Masters by Research under the 2026 GOI‑IES call.

To be eligible for the GOI‑IES programme, applicants must:
- Have a domiciliary of origin outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland/United Kingdom;
- Hold a conditional or final offer of admission from TUS.
