NASA International Space Apps Challenge

The NASA International Space Apps Challenge (or Space Apps) is an international hackathon that will take place in person over a 48-hour period around the globe on 3rd, 4th and 5th October.

Since its inception in 2012 by the Earth Science division, NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge has engaged 373,000+ people from 185+ countries using NASA’s open data to build innovative solutions that solve challenges we face on Earth and in Space.

The event embraces collaborative problem solving with a goal of producing open-source solutions to challenges we currently face on Earth and in space. Space Apps is open to the public and free for all ages to attend.

Registration

In NASA Space Apps Athlone (a.k.a HackAthlone), 220+ participants are expected to be on campus for working on 18 problem statements given by NASA and local problem statements in an Industry Side-Track.

It is the only location in Ireland to host the event for 48 hours non-stop, with cash prizes and food provisions, where skilled mentors from both Academia and Industry will join in to assist the students in pushing out quality open-source projects.
