Applied Learning and Skills Development Open Evening – Moylish Campus

About the event

Are you a student aged 18 or over with an intellectual disability? Are you looking to develop the skills, confidence, and experience needed for higher education and meaningful employment?

Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) invites prospective students, parents, and guardians to our Open Evening for the Applied Learning and Skills Development [CALSD] programme. This is a unique opportunity to meet the team, tour the campus, and learn about this HEA-funded, Level 6 certificate.

Where and When?

TUS Moylish Campus, Limerick City:

  • Morning Session: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm (Room 3A05)
  • Evening Session: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Room 10A06)

About the Course

The CALSD program is a 2-year, full-time course (60 ECTS) designed to provide a supportive pathway into higher education and professional life.

Key Highlights:

  • High Support: Teaching occurs in small groups with individualised support.
  • Real-World Experience: The final semester is dedicated to a strongly supported work placement.
  • Diverse Modules: Includes subjects like Advocacy, Wellbeing, and electives in Culinary Arts, Sport, Creative Studies, or Outdoor Pedagogy.
  • Fully Funded: There are no course fees (HEA funded).

Who Should Attend?

This event is for anyone interested in applying for the September 2026 intake. To be eligible for the course, applicants must:

  • Be aged 18 years or older.
  • Have a diagnosed intellectual disability (ID).
  • Possess reading and comprehension skills at QQI Level 4 or above.
