Course Overview

The aim of the Higher Diploma in Business in Operations Management is to give learners an opportunity to acquire an integrated understanding of the operation and strategy of Quality and Lean Management and to develop transferable and transversal skills. The programme is designed to offer the learner an opportunity to gain a detailed knowledge of the theories and effective practice of Business and Operations Management which the learner can use in a wide variety of Business and Operations Management roles to improve organisational and business efficiencies and effectiveness.

Semester 1:
Operations and Quality Management
Project Finances
Business Ethics and Sustainability
Semester 2:
Applied Practice 4: Crafting and Executing Strategy
Decision Making and Business Analytics
Managing People and Organisational Change

Applicants should possess an NFQ Level 7 Ordinary Degree or equivalent, plus three years relevant work experience or in line with the TUS RPL Policy.

 

2-3 evenings per week 6pm to 9pm (online) Plus selected Saturdays per 9am – 1pm (online).

Induction

Induction for the September 2024 programmes takes place on Saturday 7 September 2024 from 9.00am to 1.00pm.
In advance, you will be required to review Pre-Induction reading material, available to you on https://tus.ie/flexible.

During Induction, you will be given the opportunity to:
– Meet your programme lecturers, programme co-ordinator and students
– Overview of the programme handbook, programme’s modules, assessments and delivery timetable
– Introduction to TUS learning systems including MS Office, Zoom, Moodle etc
– Outline of the learning supports available to you during the programme

Candidates that successfully complete the Higher Diploma in Business Operations Management can progress to one of a number of part-time online Postgraduate Diplomas.
