I have almost thirty years’ experience in third-level education in France and in Ireland. Following some years teaching English in France, I spent the early part of my career lecturing French and German in third-level in Ireland while also undertaking active scholarship and PhD research in French cultural studies. In recent years, my teaching has focussed on developing students’ general communication skills and academic practice for the third-level environment.
I actively collaborate with Engineering colleagues on cross-disciplinary projects and am an active member of TUS Midlands Team-based Learning Community of Practice (TBL CoP).
In addition to presenting practitioner papers, I have contributed to several entries in TUS Compendia on Teaching and Learning.
Since 2022 I have been actively involved in supporting Ukrainian refugees integrate in my local community and am currently working on a research project “From Ukraine to East Galway” with a friend and PhD candidate in NUI Maynooth, Niall Ó Díomasaigh.
