Dr. Patrick Murray is the Head of Research at Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) working in the office of Vice President Research Development and Innvation. He is Principal Investigator of Shannon Applied Biotechnology Research Centre and technology gateway with a strong track record of collaboration with industry specifically in identification of innovative ingredients and biological products from natural resources.
Dr Murray is the coordinator of the multi-partner EU projects, Regional University Network European University PLUS funded under the H2020 programme and the Erasmus funded European University alliance RUN EU 2 . He has supervised research students at MSc and PhD level and is the author of a number of peer reviewed scientific articles, book chapters and patents. He has previously worked as a visiting researcher at the Wallenburg Wood Biotechnology Centre at KTH-University in Sweden, VTT the national biotechnology research centre of Finland and Cetemares marine biotechnology laboratories in Portugal.
