Just Relax – The Secret Science of Successful Golf |
This event takes place in Athlone Golf Club with sports psychologist Dr Eoghan McNeill, a keen golfer and sports psychologist who has done work nationally and in peer reviewed research on the psychological factors that are at play every time you pick up the golf club bag. It’s not just a physical game, like a lot of things, it’s also psychological. This event will feature science communicator and keen golfer Dr Barry Fitzgerald in conversation with Dr Eoghan McNeill. You’ll be sure to come away with some psychological tips and tricks that will help you to improve your game. |

TUS is delighted to host the regional final of the ISTA (Irish Science Teachers Association) annual Leaving Cert Science table quiz on Thursday, 17 November as part of Science Week 2022. The top 3 or 4 teams in the competition take part in the national final the following Saturday (26 Nov) in TCD. |

Eco-Printing and drawing with plant-based inks |
Eco-printing combines the historic methods used in natural dying with contemporary contact print techniques. The results are stunning plant portraits captured on paper and fabric. Eco-Printing creates prints of leaves, using the natural pigments, tannins and acids present in leaves, by combining them with mordants, moisture and heat on paper and/or fabric. Science is a central part of the process of transfer to create unique artworks. While the eco-prints are developing workshop participants will do a drawing activity using plant-based inks. |
