Eco-Printing and drawing with plant-based inks

Eco-printing combines the historic methods used in natural dying with contemporary contact print techniques. The results are stunning plant portraits captured on paper and fabric. Eco-Printing creates prints of leaves, using the natural pigments, tannins and acids present in leaves, by combining them with mordants, moisture and heat on paper and/or fabric. Science is a central part of the process of transfer to create unique artworks.

While the eco-prints are developing workshop participants will do a drawing activity using plant-based inks.
