The final Social Sciences ConneXions Spring Series 2022 event takes place on Friday 8th April from 11am – 12pm on Zoom.

Our special guest presenter is Dr. Melinda Heinz. Melinda is a visiting Fulbright Scholar at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Moylish campus, conducting research on Men’s Sheds. She is exploring how participating in shed activities contributes to purpose and meaning in life among older men.

In the United States, she is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Upper Iowa University where she teaches courses in developmental psychology and conducts research with older adults. She earned her Masters and PhD in Human Development and Family Studies from Iowa State University.

Dr. Heinz’s presentation is open to all TUS staff and students and to members of the public. Attendance is free but you must register to receive the Zoom link (see below). There will be an opportunity for Q&A and the session will be recorded.  Please share with all undergrad and postgrad students and anyone in your network who might be interested.
